The Mail Creek (Siphon) bridge is the first trail overpass in Fort Collins. It connects two major paved trails on southeast part of Fort Collins, providing much needed safe crossing over the Union Pacific Railroad. This project took 13 years to come to fruition, from identifying the needs, to opening the crossing to public use. The project navigated through a complex set of challenges during designing and construction. Among the numerous stakeholders of the project are Union Pacific Railroad, Poudre River Power Authority and two irrigation ditch companies.
