McKenzie Hamilton is a high school senior at Legend High School in Parker, Colorado with a strong interest in mechanical engineering, transportation, and community impact.
McKenzie Hamilton is a high school senior at Legend High School in Parker, Colorado with a strong interest in mechanical engineering, transportation, and community impact. She has maintained excellent academic performance while pursuing leadership, service, and applied engineering experiences. McKenzie is a founding member and the current president of her school’s SWENext chapter, where she helped grow the organization from just a few members into an active group of over 25. In this role, she focuses on building community, organizing college visits, and connecting students with engineers and STEM professionals.
McKenzie has been involved in Technology Student Association, DECA, and FBLA, developing skills in technical problem solving and professional communication. She is a Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate and gained real-world engineering experience as a Mechanical Equipment Designer Intern at Merrick & Company. During her internship, she used Creo, Windchill, and Bluebeam to create and revise engineering drawings that were delivered directly to clients.
In addition, McKenzie volunteers as a math tutor with the CABPES Math Enrichment Program, supporting younger students in building confidence in STEM. After graduation, she plans to pursue an engineering degree focused on transportation and infrastructure systems that improve access and safety for communities.
