Ashwini is a third-year student studying Civil Engineering with a minor in Public Affairs at the Colorado School of Mines.
Ashwini is a junior studying Civil Engineering with a minor in Public Affairs at the Colorado School of Mines. While at Mines, she has led several organizations, such as the Mines Activities Council, Multicultural Engineering Program, McBride Honors Program, Mines without Borders, and Environmental Scholars Program. She also founded the Nepalese Student Association. Alongside her extracurriculars, she has had a variety of on-campus jobs, such as being a Student Event Coordinator, Peer Mentor, and grader for Mechanics of Materials.
Her interest in transportation was sparked when working in the Colorado Science and Engineering Policy Fellowship under the Colorado State Senate during the summer of 2022, and seeing the positive impact that sustainable public transportation could make in Colorado. After graduation, she plans on pursuing a master’s in Structural Engineering at Mines. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, being active and outdoors, watching movies and TV, trying out new vegan recipes, and hanging out with her friends.
